Expressway Optical Fiber Communication Network (OFCN)

- A safe duplicate structure, where the communication network is not interrupted even when there is a defect in a particular section.
- 2,185.5km currently installed
Freeway Traffic Management System (FTMS)
- Installed and operated in 2. 628km of expressways
- ITS system installed in 561km of the national highway detour from Daejeon north bound.
- System construction for the collection and supply of information in relation to expressway congestion situations, travel time required per section, optimum travel routes, and overall traffic information.
- Provided through the KHC web site (www.freeway.co.kr), Cellular phones, PDA, CNS etc.

Electronic Toll Collection System (Hi-Pass)
- A toll collection system with the latest electronic equipment where the toll is collected while the vehicle is driving without even a brief stop at the tollgate.
- By inserting the Hi-Pass in an OBU (On Board Unit) installed in the vehicles, the toll payment is made through wireless transmission between the antennas on the road and the OBU in the vehicle
- This toll collection system has 3 times the processing capability of the existing toll collection system (TCS)
- The Hi-Pass system is currently operating on a trial basis on 3 tollgates of the Seoul Ring Expressway
HI-Pass is a toll collection system with the latest electronic equipment
where the toll is collected while the vehicle is driving without even a brief stop at the tollgate
